I have a motobecane AV7 engine and would like some tuning help. I can find very little help in the uk and thought this forum may be able to help.
Can anything be done to the cylinder to make it faster?
Can you buy a bigger cylinder, maybe an airsal?

hello ! welcome ! for a kit airsal, you have the airsal t6, but this cylindre it isn't the best in the "bas régime"  (10-15 kmh) ! sorry my english is not good ... 

airsal t6 isn't very good for 0 to 40 kmh and after he is  good because he give 10kmh more cylinder basic

I would never thought that we were selling such motobikes in other countries than ours !!
where are you comming from exactly?

on this engine, it's already difficult for us to find good spare parts.  the first thing you can do is to replace the exaust system by a better one. problem is that your motorbike will lost all of the classic french style. if you want to kip the original style, you wont have any other choice than opening the engine and using file to arrange few things. such spare parts like Airsal cylinders will not fit on.
the AV7 engine is now to old that you can find a good cylinder. but if you now a littel bit about mechanic, and if you can place fotos hier, then, we can help you to ga faster !

show us how the engine looks like, there was different carburetor system at this time. we need to have  look on. you needn't a bigger one, cause the cylinder would not burn more than now!

1The exhaust will be replaced, I  will make my own but want a new cylinder first to get port timings.
The engine is on a raleigh runabout from the uk which used mobylette/motobecane engines.
I plan on using a 14mm carb from a puch maxi as I have a spare.
The cylinder cannot be ported as it is chrome plated, is this correct? I can clean up the inlets but the exhaust port needs to be bigger but I don't want to damage the chrome plating.

hi, you can adapt an AV10 engine ! these 2 engines have the same fixations, and the AV10 is easier to make tuning... and more powerful !

Would the crank, magneto and variator fit from my av7?
There are not many mopeds in this country, but I also have a 75cc puch maxi that I am building!

your moped looks like the motobecane av42 or av49 series...

you should try to find a complete av10 engine because on those engine there are electrical magneto...

un T6 c'a n'a pas d'admission par jupe de piston, donc, ca ne monte sur ca brelle!!!!

forget it , this cylinder can not fit on!
